 MISSION

The mission of Winand Elementary School is to provide a safe, nurturing, and diverse educational program which promotes opportunities for every child to achieve his/her potential, while focusing on their strengths to remediate their weaknesses. In this way, it is our goal to create productive citizens who can successfully interact within society.

VISION

Winand Elementary School students will have the content knowledge, skills, technological abilities and confidence to reach their full potential as responsible, productive, global citizens prepared for the challenges of the 21st century as a result of rigorous and engaging instruction.

Gradual Entry 2017-2018

EC-3 & Pre-Kindergarten

9/5 & 9/6 - Parent/Teacher Conferences.
9/7 &b 9/8 - Gradual Entry Assigned Days.
9/11 -  Regular Pre-Kindergarten Session (A.M or P.M. Class).

9/5 - Conferences
9/6 -Half of the class will attend all day.
9/7 - The other half  will attend all day. 
9/8 - First full day for all Kg students.

Please send in a complete change of clothes (including socks and underwear) in a large Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it.





Kindergarten Supply List

2017-2018  

 

1 Box of Large Crayons (8 Large Crayons)

2 Dry-Erase Markers

1 Composition Notebook – (with your child’s name on it)

2 Glue Sticks (no liquid glue)

1 1-inch Clear View Binder

1 Lunch Box or Bag of Lunch - (with your child’s name on it)

1 Set of Seasonal Spare Clothing in a Bag - (with your child’s name on it)

1 Backpack (no wheels, with your child’s name on it)

1 Old, Large T-Shirt (which can be decorated during the first week of school & used as a smock for the remaining of the year)

1 Pair of Ear Phones/Buds (can be purchased at the dollar store)

 

The following items may be donated to our classroom.  If you would like to choose one or two things, it would greatly be appreciated.

4 Boxes of Tissue

2 Hand Soaps in Pump Container

2 Rolls of Paper Towels

1 Container of Disinfectant Wipes

1 Box of Ziploc Bags (gallon or sandwich size)

3 Hand Sanitizers

 

2017-18 Supply List

1st Grade

  • This will get your child started, but please understand that these supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year.
  • NO BACK PACKS WITH WHEELS.
  • NO MECHANICAL PENCILS.
  • Please label all supplies with either your child’s name or their initials.
  • Please disregard the list that you may have seen on the internet.

 

  • Headphones or ear buds
  • 4 hard composition notebooks
  • 5 DRY ERASE BLACK markers
  • 1 school box (8 by 5 only)
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • 4 pink erasers
  • 24  #2 pencils
  • 1 box of washable markers (8,10 or 12 count only)
  • 3 folders
  • 1 box of crayons 24 count only
  • 8 LARGE glue sticks (small glue sticks do not last)
  • 1 change of clothes (seasonal)

 

For ART:  1 old, large t-shirt to be used as an art smock

•           1 pair of Fiskars children blunt tip scissors

•           2 black expo dry erase marker

•           2 packets of standard size (4 x4) Post-It notes

1 Zipper Pencil Case, no hard case will not fit in desk.

5 -Hardback composition notebooks used for journals.

112’ inch ruler metric and standard measurement for home use.

2 highlighters –please replenish throughout the year

1 pair of scissors.

1 box of color pencils/crayons (NO Markers) please replenish throughout the year.
