The mission of Winand Elementary School is to provide a safe, nurturing, and diverse educational program which promotes opportunities for every child to achieve his/her potential, while focusing on their strengths to remediate their weaknesses. In this way, it is our goal to create productive citizens who can successfully interact within society.


Winand Elementary School students will have the content knowledge, skills, technological abilities and confidence to reach their full potential as responsible, productive, global citizens prepared for the challenges of the 21st century as a result of rigorous and engaging instruction.

Pre-K Supplies

1 Back Pack (large enough to hold lunch box & folder)
1 Lunch box
6 Glue Sticks (Elmer’s)
1 Bottle of White Glue
Fat Crayola Crayons (8 count)

*Please send in a complete change of clothes (including socks and underwear in a large Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it)

EC 3’s Supply List
We request the following items to be sent DAILY with your child and to be labeled with your child’s name:
1 vinyl folder with 2 pockets
A “lunch box or bag” in which to send a snack everyday
A backpack which is large enough to hold the folder, the lunch box and various projects that may come home
Your child will also need a complete set of spare clothes, including socks and underwear, in a bag labeled with his/her name. (These are to be switched out seasonally – we will remind you.)
We us A LOT of the following items and would very much appreciate any donations of these, at any time, to enhance your child’s experiences here:
Glue sticks & Play dough
Boxes of sandwich, quart and /or gallon ZIPLOCK bags
Boxes of tissues
Diaper wipes (used for hand wiping)
Containers of disinfecting wipes (like Clorox or Lysol)
The above items DO NOT have to be labeled with your child’s name. 

Kindergarten Supply List

1 box large crayons (8 large crayons)
2 dry-erase markers
1 composition notebook (with your child’s name on it)
2 glue sticks (no liquid glue)
1 white 1 – inch clear view binder
1 lunch box or bag for lunch (with your child’s name on it)
1 set of seasonal spare clothing in a bag (with your child’s name on it)
1 backpack (no backpacks with wheels; with your child’s name)
1 old, large t-shirt (which can be decorated during the first week of school and used as a smock the reminder of this year)
1 pair of ear phones/buds.
The following items may be donated to our classroom, if you would like to choose one or two things, it would be greatly appreciated
4 boxes of tissues/2 rolls of paper towels/1 container of disinfectant wipes/1 box of Ziploc bags (gallon or sandwich size)
2 hands soaps in a pump container & 3 hand sanitize

1st Grade Supply List

This will get your child started, but please understand that these supplies will need to be replenished throughout the year.
Please label all supplies wit either your child’s name or their initials.

Grade Four School Supply List

Dear Parents:
Welcome to a new school year. Your child will need the following items below for class projects and activities:

1 binder (1 ½ - 2 inches)
8 folders (with pockets only – 2 red, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 yellow, 1 orange, 1 black, 1 purple)
3 packs of loose leaf paper, wide-rule
1 zippered pencil case (no hard cases, will not fit in the desk)
6 hardback composition notebooks (used for journals and math)
1 12” ruler (metric and standard measurement) for home use
12 #2 pencils (no mechanical pencils – please replenish throughout the year)
2 highlighters (please replenish throughout the year)
1 pair of scissors
1 box of colored pencils/crayons (no markers-please replenish throughout the year)

Just in Case!
Accidents happen! Please send your student to school with a complete change of clothes (underwear and socks!) for emergencies. Be aware, the school does not provide pull-up, diapers, or wipes for students. If your child needs these items, they must be supplies from home. 
We do not have a schedule snack time as part of our day. however, we will be having periodic cooking lessons as part of our functional curriculum to teach critical life skills, healthy living, and nutrition. I will send a note home prior to these activities. Be sure to note any food allergies on your child’s school/classroom forms.
